A great piece of clothing may just crash if not matched with appropriate accessories and shoes come first in this aspect. Sadly, this is a part often overridden and examples are galore regarding dirty shoes turning a hot date and future promises evaporate into nothingness. However, trendy-ness must not also overrule comfort when it comes to fashionable footwear.
That shall require you re-thinking over a few factors apart from comfort; namely, the purpose, the weather and of course, the build and the quality of the material. But relax; all of them come together without you paying a hefty price.
If it’s a party pair you are looking out for, then high heels are the unwritten law of the domain; whether it’s pencil or platform heels, the open toe sandals are the choices of 2009 summer. For just a casual pair, trendy floaters suffice fine, especially if you need to be on your feet for prolonged hours. And for the sporty types, sneakers prove to be the best options.
But these are the choices of the mass; how about standing a bit apart? Read the rest of this entry »

Most men like sports and some are fanatic about it, to the extent of dreaming and living it. But, very few take sports as a career, so the best way to stay in touch with it is keeping something next to the skin. But work doesn’t allow tracksuits; so a sports watch fills the void. Currently, sports watches are the most searched items among the buyers. So let’s know what’s there into it.

It’s easier narrating what a sports watch is not. It’s certainly not a time-telling piece of jewelry; it is a device with special utilities to register or analyse chronologically an activity or an event. The ones that are most hunted are the diving watches and racing watches; the pilot watches make for more sophisticated wear while military watches when you go camping or some other outdoor activity. Beliefs come from the culture, which also render the human archetypal imagination. Hence, tribal jewellery are based more on natural symbols while that of the civilized world reflect more rational thoughts and complex thought patterns that inevitably show through the finer and more intricate designs. However, of late, it has been a trend to portray one’s self as simple and simplistic; frill designs are falling short ruling the major fashion trends. As evident from all that we may consider jewellery as an extension of human psychology.

So let’s start with the most rudimentary form of jewellery – the tribal ones that are also creating a sensation in the fashion world of recent. Firstly, it’s because of the diverse array of materials (leaves, flowers, bones, shells and wood; sometimes, metals), next, it is because of the hidden messages and good luck charms that stay associated, which makes them an indispensable part of the tribal cultures.
All these have popularized the Indian and African tribal jewelleries in the greater part of the fashion conscious civilized world and how much ever superstitious it may sound, many have benefited from the good luck they have brought. However, to enjoy that bit of good fortune, you need original tribal jewelry and not some upmarket boutique preparing them. Replica tribal jewelleries may be a thousand times better when it comes to quality and durability, but they don’t have that raw edge that’s essentially tribal.
So what are the jewelleries that the fashion world is considering the best of everything tribal? Firstly, these are the ankle bracelets (both hinge and horn stretchy varieties); the horn and bone necklaces and earrings and bangles made from wood and/or resins. They go well with either ethnic outfits or strictly jeans and tops and high boots; if you have an eye for animal prints, nothing shall compliment your choice more than the authentic tribal jewellery.

It’s useless speaking here since when high-heeled shoes continue their domination. It’s one of those fashion trends that people love to wrap around. There are many instances when women surgically altered their feet to fit into a pair. But very few know how to wear them without imposing upon self the health hazards. Let’s see what they are.

The chief complaint about high-heeled shoes is they force an unnatural posture, significantly stressing the joints. The spine also forms more of a ‘S’-shape, which, despite imparting more prominence to the curves, puts a considerable amount of excess weight on the forefoot. A 3-inch heel makes that 76%, bringing the forefoot at risk for fatal injuries. Stress fractures, bunions and hammertoes are a few of them. In flat shoes, the spine stays reasonably straight though taking away more of the strut.
A side effect to wearing high-heels is the knee pain, caused by the thigh muscle grouping in the front of the thigh. This increases pressure on the kneecap. Read the rest of this entry »
